Critical power equipment · sourced nationwide, shipped anywhere

The transfer switch your project is waiting on already exists. Somewhere.

Every distributor in the country is quoting you thirty weeks. We find the unit that’s already built, already sitting somewhere, and get you a straight answer inside a day.

The problem

Thirty weeks is not an answer. It’s a shrug.

A lead time measured in seasons assumes the only transfer switch that exists is one nobody has built yet. For a hospital with a failed ATS or a data center with a commissioning date, that assumption isn’t just wrong — it’s expensive.

Lead time, actual size

What you’re quoted, against what we do.

Time to a firm answer Scale 0 – 32 weeks
Typical OEM quote26 weeks
“Best case” distributor30 weeks
TransferSwitch.store24 hours
24 hours is time to an answer — not a delivery date

Anyone quoting a delivery date before they’ve located the actual unit is guessing. We tell you what we found, which channel it came from, what condition it’s in, and what it will really take. If we can’t get it, you hear that inside a day too — a fast no protects your schedule better than a slow maybe.

The promise

24Hours to a straight answer

Send the spec — brand, amperage, poles, voltage, or just a photo of the nameplate. Inside a day you’ll know what we found and what it will take. That’s the whole promise, and it’s one we can actually keep.

The network

Six channels most buyers never see.

A distributor search covers one of these. We work all six at once.

CH 01

Cancelled orders

Projects die. The gear was already built and allocated, and now has nobody’s name on it.

CH 02

Decommissioned facilities

A plant closes or re-powers and good equipment comes out of the wall — often low-hours and fully documented.

CH 03

Surplus dealers

A nationwide layer of inventory that never appears in a distributor search, because it was never in a distributor’s catalog.

CH 04

Reconditioning shops

Rebuilt and tested to spec. Against thirty weeks of nothing, a tested reconditioned switch is a real answer.

CH 05

Allocation slots

Factory build slots change hands. Knowing whose slot is about to free up beats being first in the queue.

CH 06

Contractor overstock

Somebody over-ordered on a job that finished under budget. It’s in a yard two states over and they’d rather have the cash.

Not sure what you need yet?

We wrote the explainer, and you can take the switch apart.

If you are still specifying — or you inherited a system and are working out what is actually in it — start there instead. The transfer sequence, the three transition types, the eight things you need before anyone can quote you, and a 3D unit you can open up and pull apart, part by part.

Straight answers

What people ask us at this point.

Why are automatic transfer switch lead times so long right now?

Demand for switchgear has outrun the factories that build it. Data center construction, grid hardening and electrification all draw on the same component supply and the same production slots, and a transfer switch is a low-volume, configured-to-order product to begin with. The result is quotes measured in seasons rather than weeks — not because your unit is exotic, but because you are queuing behind everybody else’s.

Can I actually get a transfer switch faster than the quoted lead time?

Often, yes — because a quoted lead time is a manufacturing estimate, not a statement about how many of that switch exist. Cancelled orders, decommissioned facilities, surplus stock, reconditioning shops, traded factory allocation slots and contractor overstock all hold real, built units that never appear in a distributor search. That is the entire job here: we work all six of those channels at once and tell you what we found.

How quickly will I hear back?

Inside 24 hours. To be precise about what that means: it is 24 hours to an answer, not to a delivery date. You will hear what we located, which channel it came from, what condition it is in, and what it will realistically take. If we cannot get it, you hear that inside a day too — a fast no protects your schedule better than a slow maybe.

Is a reconditioned or surplus transfer switch safe to install?

A properly reconditioned switch is rebuilt and tested to spec, and against thirty weeks of nothing it is a real answer rather than a compromise. The enclosure and busbar outlast most buildings; what wears is the mechanism and the controller, which is exactly what reconditioning addresses. What matters is that you know which you are getting — new, surplus or reconditioned — and we tell you that up front, every time.

What do you need from me to start looking?

Brand, amperage, poles and voltage will do. If you are standing in front of a failed unit, a photo of the nameplate is enough — everything we need is printed on it. If you are specifying rather than replacing, the transition type and the available fault current matter too.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes. Sourcing is nationwide and shipping is not the hard part — finding the unit is. We have shipped to buyers well outside the mainland. Tell us where it needs to land and we will factor that into the answer rather than discovering it afterwards.

Tell us what you’re chasing.

The harder it is to find, the more interested we are. Data centers, hospitals, military sites, industrial facilities, and the contractors keeping them running.

And it does not have to be a transfer switch. We source generators through the same channels — if a genset is what your project is short of, ask, and you’ll get the same straight answer inside a day.
